Honeymoon Aruba
So you just can't seem to make that all
important decision on where to go for your honeymoon? What if there was a place that had a
plethora of hotels to choose from...fabulous white, powder beaches and secluded romantic
getaways. And what if, after all that romantic "alone time" you decided you're
ready for some nightlife, only to find it practically right outside your door. What if I
told you that perfect paradise actually exists. Well, it does my friends...that place is
Aruba.
Need two more reasons to be convinced?
#1 Aruba is outside of the hurricane belt.
There's virtually
no rainy season.
#2 The temperatures are consistently warm.
So if you're wondering when's the right time of year to vacation in Aruba...the answer is "all the time is Aruba time".
But let's talk budget. With all the above being said, (were you waiting for the bubble to burst?) there is a high season in Aruba. It's not because of their weather, which is typically the case with most resorts. It's because of the cold and often nasty weather in North America. Good for them, but bad for you because you pay twice the going rate for hotels. Still, it is very possible to find reasonable package rates no matter what time of year.
Getting There
Located in the heart of the Southern Caribbean, Aruba is only a few hours air time
from major US Cities.
The Land
You won't find lush greenery here. Its lack of rain makes for a desert-like island.
What you will find is white powder beaches with crystalline, turquoise waters.
Beaches
The two main beaches in Aruba are Palm Beach (where you'll find the high-rise
hotels) and Eagle Beach (the low-rises). Most people prefer Palm Beach because of its
convenient location. Everything is in walking distance; casinos, restaurants, food stores,
shopping and more. You'll find the Radisson and the Hyatt along this beach.
Getting Around
There are plenty of ways to get around the island. Having a car is not really
necessary. If you're into sightseeing, you're better off doing the popular SUV tours. You
can see the island in one day. Or you can see most of the island with the 1/2 day guided
Depalm tour. You can check out the island yourself, but the island roads are not well
marked and car rentals can be high. Reputable rentals are conveniently located just as you
exit the airport.
Shopping
Aruba is a shoppers paradise. Need I say more? Most boutiques are located in
Oranjestad. The major shopping centers are Alhambra Shopping Bazaar, Palm Beach Shopping
Center and Seaport Village Mall. Your hotel concierge will give you great tips on where to
go. There's tons of other places to shop.
